What is the Date field? [1]

This field is for the date that marks the initiation of the threat. This should be the date of the first event that constitutes a threat in itself –- i.e. the type of event you select in the “Threat Type” field -- rather than the first event that led to the threat. For example, the appropriate date for an “Email” threat involving a blog post would be the date when the threatening email was sent, rather than the date when the blog post was created. Other examples include the filing date of a lawsuit and the date a subpoena was issued.

An exact date is preferred, and should be in a MM/DD/YEAR format. If you do not know the date, leave it blank.  If you know the year but not the month or day, simply enter 00/00/YEAR or MM/00/YEAR to enter the approximate date.
