Welch v. Nyberg II [1]

School board president Chris Welch filed a defamation suit against blogger Carl Nyberg over posts accusing Welch of participating in an illegal kickback scheme. Nyberg, who runs the Proviso Probe [2] blog, has long been an outspoken critic of Welch.  This is the second time Welch has sued Nyberg for defamation (Welch dismissed his previous suit [3] without prejudice).

Welch requested a temporary restraining when filing the complaint. On July 16, the court granted the restraining order, and Nyberg took down a portion of a disputed blog post pursuant to the order.
